Pinterest, Instagram, home and decor magazines – with all the inspiration out there, you’d think it would be easy to decorate a space. But it doesn’t always feel that way.
First, decide on the layout of your space. Where do you want to place the larger furniture? How can you fill in the remaining space with smaller pieces? Next, decide on a colour and pattern scheme. Do you want the room to be mostly white with a few bright pops? Or, do you prefer an eclectic blend of colours and patterns? Lastly, start adding in accessories. Because they’re small, feel free to take a few risks. You can always change items out if they aren’t working or you grow tired of them. Also, don’t be afraid to accessorize slowly. The most beautiful and lived-in feeling rooms are the ones that have been created over time.
