Deciding to sell your home and looking for a new place is already overwhelming enough.
Throw in a mile long to-do list and the process begins to feel downright daunting. Yet, there are only three simple rules to follow when readying your home for sale – clean, remove, repair. The shine and smell of a freshly cleaned home cannot be overrated. The cleaner the home, the easier it is for potential buyers to picture themselves moving in tomorrow. Put away excess knick-knacks and personal photos. Clear out closets and pantries. Declutter the garage and garden shed. Again, you want potential buyers to see less of you in your home and more of themselves. As for repairs, if it’s broken – fix it. Most buyers shy away from a home that needs a lot of work. So do it for them and hopefully they’ll repay you with an offer!
