DESIGNING FOR DOGS

Go back to Blog

We all know the impact design and decor have on humans. Soft colours calm us, too many knick-knacks make us feel claustrophobic, etc. But did you know our pets are also affected

by our design choices? Contrary to popular belief, dogs and cats aren’t colour blind and actually see some colours better than humans. They are also able to see the Ultraviolet UVB Spectrum, which means being around bright lights and objects can be jarring.

Softer hues such as light yellow are much easier on your pet’s eyes. And while hardwood floors are certainly a beautiful addition to any home, older dogs can slip and hurt themselves if there are no area rugs to help them find traction. Lastly, having a pet is like having a small child in the house. Make sure to put away cleaning supplies and anything else they could get into that might harm them.
